Diabetes, or more formally known as Diabetes mellitus is a condition in which the body cannot produce enough insulin or has a problem responding to the hormone insulin. Produced in the pancreas, insulin aids in absorbing glucose for the body to use up for energy. In diabetics, either their body has difficulties in responding to its own insulin, does not produce adequate insulin, or it can also be both.
Handling Diabetes
You might want to be on the lookout for a heart condition if you have diabetes. Get tested for it, and until the doctor says you are free of it, don't settle back. Even afterward, as you undergo treatment, remember to continue checking for it. The chances you could develop such are simply too high.
When you have a lot if what I'd call "central body fat", you could catch diabetes sooner than later. I do have it, so I work out and diet like crazy, and then I go for checks as often as I can. I think you should too.

There is a lot that you can do with yourself, and I really do not think that getting diabetes ought to be one of them. If you are able to say, keep your diet to something more reasonable than dangerous, you could live a healthy youth and old age without the disease.
It is not often that you get young kids with diabetes; however that is by no means a rule out. Some are even born with the condition. Just so you know, so that you are not surprised by it.
You need to know how to care for your diabetic uncle so that they don't suffer unduly around you or any complications of diabetes can be prevented. It begins with understanding what lifestyle they should live, as opposed to what they actually want. Food, workout, the works. Grasp that, and things will look up for both you and them.
